Ever since the Boca Paila Lodge, situated within the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve, was founded by the Gonzalez family in 1964, it has gaines a solid international reputation as one of the very best fishing camps.
This tourism complex which offers all the amenities and services to its guests, provides acces to an ideal fly fishing area.
Much of the reserve is made up of salt water lagoons, fed by fresh waters which come from rainfall and natural springs. As in the rest of the reserve the vegetation consists mainly of mangroves.
For the fly rodder, spin fisherman or baitcaster, Boca Paila is one of the very best flat fisheries in the Atlantic or the Caribbean. Boca Paila is best known for superb bonefishing and unparalleled permit population, but there´s a bonus: tarpon, snook, barracuda, jack crevalle and cubera snapper.
The lodge, built very close to the beach, can host 20 guests in comfortable and renovates rooms. It also has 10 Dolphins craft and an equal number of experienced guides. Fishing takes place in the interior lagoons and the interconnecting channels.
The most prized trophy in Boca Paila is the permit, which can be caught all year round in the Sian Kaan Reserve. Catching this most elusive fish requires a good level of casting, speed and precision, as well as the appropriate fly.
