CANCUN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
It is Mexico’s second busiest airport, after Mexico City International Airport in Mexico City, but the biggest in Mexico for International passengers. In 2013, Cancún airport handled 15,962,162 passengers, a 10.4% increase compared to 2012, and it is the most important for ASUR (Aeropuertos del Sur).
El Meco Archaeological Site
The portion of the site currently includes mostly explored a square of clear ceremonial and political function as well as a series of palaces and administrative structures distributed in the environment. Excavations showed the existence of a substructure formed by a lower foundation on top of which a temple of a single access and more modest architecture was preserved.
El Rey Archeological Site
Located at km 18 of the Hotel Zone, is the island’s most notable archaeological settlement in the Cancun area. The explored portion, which includes forty-seven structures, corresponds to a religious and administrative area in which surely held important ceremonies and lived the characters of higher status in the political life of the region
Maya Museum of Cancun
The museum is a maya museum work of the INAH, which emphasizes the linear image with lattice walls specifically outdoor spaces that allow visitors to enjoy the weather in Cancun, is conveniently located just steps from the Hotel Emporio Family Suites Cancun and was inaugurated on November 2, 2012.
Cancun Convention Center
Cancún has two international Conventions Centers; first, founded in 1986, was designed taking into account the highest standards of architecture, technology and functionality in conducting conventions, international events and exhibitions. It consists of 6,500 square feet of convention areas, located in the “km 9” of the Hotel Zone, the second is one of the most important and largest in Latin America and the first to be called MESSE, for their European characteristics, which was chosen to host the COP16 in Cancun in 2010, because it has all the international standards and with a capacity of 60,000 m² roofing and more than 30,000 m² outdoor exhibition grounds has a carrying capacity of 7 tons per m² and headroom exhibit 9 meters, located 10 minutes from the International airport between Puerto Morelos and Cancun.
