HOTEL DESCRIPTION
The Hotel Azul is not only a Hotel, it is a project of architecture and environment, it is a contemporary art project, a fusion of interior design, conceptual art, plastic art and cuisine. It´s mission is to create a connection between the spectator and the interior world of the artist.
The experienced spectator, interested in art and culture is not satisfied but seeing the pieces on white walls and spaces of the traditional galleries. For some critics the “white cube” is not enough to get to know the real spirit of the artist.
Therefore, Hotel Azul is a new platform whose intention is to recreate the world of the artist in one of the 21 rooms, where the guest can live the “creative and esthetic experience of the artist”.
Furthermore, the Hotel Azul is a center of cultural exchange that incorporates cinematic, painting, literature, music, sculptures, architecture and dance in its different spaces, where the illumination and the colors are the leading elements to live this experience.
Azul is a 5* Boutique Hotel, with 21 rooms in an exclusive design and style, transforming each room in an exceptional piece with luxury, comfort and taste. This concept is unique in Oaxaca.
Five local artists are being paid tribute to. Each suite has been decorated and arranged by a different artist in its own style
Rooms
*SUITE TOLEDO
The multi-disciplinary design of the Maestro Toledo en this suite shows his mastery of different techniques. He is recognized as one of the most important artist in the country, he has designed and worked on sculptures and etchings among others, that show natural elements combined with his own particular style.
*SUITE LEYVA
Rubén Leyva shapes this suite by playing with forms and colors. His work has a childish character and offers a landscape of creative liberty where the guest´s imagination is key.
*SUITE ZÁRATE
This suite is a scenery full of earth colors that live in harmony with the guest. The Maestro Zárate displays in his room important characteristics of his work.
*SUITE VILLALOBOS
The design of the Maestro Villalobos offers a geometric ambience with a lot of movement. This suite is all about creating a sinuous scenery, full of color that does not pretend to tell a specific story, a particular characteristic that differentiates the Maestro Villalobos from other oaxacan artists.
*SUITE JORGE DUBON
A tribute to the Maestro Jorge Dubon, his suite reflects the multi functionality that is characteristic for his work, where a big piece of wood can be transformed into a useful object. Simplicity and a minimalist style dominate this room.
*STANDARD ROOM
The mosaics in the bathroom are created by Francisco Toledo and the floor tiles in the room are designed by the well-known Interior Designer Héctor Esrawe. Each room has a different piece of art from the Maestro Zarate. The Hotel offers rooms with King size bed as well as rooms with twin beds.
